A few FACTS & some Frequently Answered Queries
-
Kathy's Cakes started in a local commercial kitchen
in 1998. We have been operating here on Reo Drive since October,
2000.
-
Kathy learned to decorate in the mid 60's attending
FULLERTON COLLEGE food preparation program for 2 years. She has been
decorating professionally since 1975.
-
We use only the best, freshest ingredients in our
cakes. Our costs continue to rise due to inflation and the cost of
fuel. Even so, we have raised our prices only once and hope to avoid
any future cost increases.
-
Many brides come to Kathy's Cakes looking for a
bargain. They consult with us and then try out other bakeries. We
estimate 80 to 90 percent who try us, eventually contract with us
for their wedding cake.
-
Our revenues and number of cakes have increased 100%
in 3 years. We must be doing something right.
And now, some Frequently Answered Queries
-
"Do you freeze your cakes?"
We do not. All our cakes are done the same week as the wedding and
kept at 34 deg. prior to delivery.
-
"Is this your only facility?"
Yes, even though we are hoping to expand next year.
-
"How many people work for you?"
At the present time we have 3 part time employees that work almost
full time during the wedding season.
-
"Will the cake melt on a hot day?"
Cakes are fragile. Yes they can melt outside of air conditioning.
The cakes cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. During hot days in
the summer, we will bring cakes partly frozen to ensure that they
last prior to cutting.
-
"What is the procedure for ordering your
services?"
We have a contract that should be filled out completely as soon as
possible. A $100.00 deposit will secure our services on the date
specified.
-
"When does the balance have to be paid?"
We will send you a letter approximately 2 months prior to the
wedding. The balance must be paid 30 days in advance. Penalties will
be imposed if not paid within 30 days
